What I said is the transmission cannot operate without proper oil pressure it has to be within a very specific range, and that's why dealers can't replace the pumps, due to not having the equipment for proper calibration. To clarify, I never said that the pump either works or it doesn't it could be working, but not at the correct pressure. Will this transmission repair affect their offer? The appraisal is good until 1/11 & now this has happened. Will the wet clutch deliver this expectation if I trade up?Īlso, the day before my check engine light came on I had my car appraised at CarMax. My 2017 Santa Fe had zero shifting issues & was a comfortable ride at all RPM's.that's what I want. I'm considering trying to work a deal with the dealership to trade it in for a 2022 that has the wet clutch since it seems Hyundai tried out this dual clutch system & quickly got rid of it or made it better in the 2022 models.Īny mechanics out there that can educate me on dual clutch & wet clutch? Will this transmission replacement affect the value of my car when I decide to trade it in? If so, it seems unfair I would have to eat that cost. Seems Hyundai introduced this new dual clutch system in or around 2020 & I noticed the new 2022's have a wet clutch which is supposed to create a smoother shift which = a smoother ride. Throughout this process I have learned that my car has a dual clutch. I asked since they had recently changed my oil.lol The transmission fluid was essentially gone & I was told there's no way to check the transmission fluid during oil changes since the unit is sealed. I was just told that the transmission needs to be replaced & that it's obviously under warranty so Hyundai will pay to fix this. Well yesterday my engine light came on & I received a notification telling me to schedule an appointment for service "TODAY" so I dropped my car off yesterday at the service center where I bought the vehicle. I purchased my brand new 2021 Santa Fe Turbo in April & have had a hard time getting comfortable with the shifting especially when driving in the city with frequent stop & go's, carpool traffic etc.
